The Board of Directors of Acacia Communications, Inc. (the "Company") sets high standards for the Company's employees, officers and directors. Implicit in this philosophy is the importance of sound corporate governance. It is the duty of the Board of Directors to serve as a prudent fiduciary for shareholders and to oversee the management of the Company's business. To fulfill its responsibilities and to discharge its duty, the Board of Directors follows the procedures and standards that are set forth in these guidelines. These guidelines are subject to modification from time to time as the Board of Directors deems appropriate in the best interests of the Company or as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Raj is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Acacia Communications. Raj brings to Acacia more than 25 years experience in telecom and communications. Prior to joining Acacia, Raj was the vice president of business development in the optical networking division of Alcatel-Lucent USA. He also founded and served as the chief executive officer of Astral Point Communications, and held various senior executive level positions at PictureTel, Multilink and Motorola. Mr. Shanmugaraj holds an M.S. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Iowa and a B.E. in electronics and communications from the National Institute of Technology.


Benny is one of the founders of Acacia Communications and also serves as its Chief Technology Officer. Benny brings to Acacia extensive expertise and experience in optical transmission and technologies. Prior to joining Acacia, Benny co-founded and served as the vice president of technology of Mintera. Prior to that, he held various engineering positions with Bell Laboratories, a research and scientific development company owned by Alcatel-Lucent USA. Benny has published more than 200 papers and conference contributions in letters, journals and conferences. Benny holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.

Christian is one of the founders of Acacia Communications and also serves as its Vice President of Digital Signal Processing and Optics. Christian brings to Acacia extensive expertise and experience in the development of digital signal processing for ultra-high speed coherent transport systems. Prior to joining Acacia, Christian was a principal optical engineer of Mintera. Christian holds an M.S. in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in optical communications from the Technical University of Denmark.

Mehrdad is one of the founders of Acacia Communications and also serves as its Vice President of Hardware and Software. Mehrdad brings to Acacia extensive expertise and experience in the area of software and hardware development. Prior to joining Acacia, Mehrdad was the consulting optical engineer of Mintera. Prior to that, he served as the principal hardware engineer of Sycamore Networks, and as the principal hardware engineer of Tektronix. Mehrdad holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Eric is the Vice President of Sales of Acacia Communications. Eric brings to Acacia more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development in the semiconductor/component segment of the communications industry. Prior to joining Acacia, Eric held various management positions at Altera Corporation, which was acquired by Intel Corporation in 2015, most recently as its vice president of sales, Americas and global key accounts. Prior to that, Eric served in various management and non-management positions in the sales and marketing function at PMC-Sierra, Inc. and Texas Instruments. Eric holds a B.S. in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and an M.B.A. from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.

Bhupen is the Vice President of Engineering of Acacia Communications. Bhupendra brings to Acacia more than 20 years of experience in engineering and engineering management. Prior to joining Acacia, Bhupen was the director of engineering at Juniper Networks. Prior to that, he was the director of hardware and software development at Broadcom. Previously, Bhupen co-founded and served as the vice president of engineering of Atlantic Cores. Bhupen holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Lowell.

John is the Vice President of Corporate Development of Acacia Communications. John brings to Acacia more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development in the semiconductor/component segment of the communications industry. Prior to joining Acacia, John was the vice president of sales and marketing of CHiL Semiconductor. Prior to CHiL Semiconductor, John served as the vice president of marketing of Applied Micro Circuits, and as the vice president of sales and marketing of Cimaron Communications. Prior to that, John served in various management positions in the sales and marketing function at National Semiconductor (acquired by Texas Instruments). John holds a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University.

Janene is the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Acacia Communications. Janene brings to Acacia more than 18 years' experience in advising companies in the technology sector on legal, business and governance matters. Prior to joining Acacia, Janene was a counsel in the corporate practice group of the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. Prior to that, Janene served as the senior corporate counsel of Entropic Communications. Janene was a senior associate in the corporate practice group of the law firm Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian and an associate in the corporate practice group of the law firm Foley Hoag. Janene holds a B.A. from the University of San Diego and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.

John is the Senior Vice President of Operations/Supply Chain of Acacia Communications. John brings to Acacia more than 20 years of international experience in operations, engineering, supply chain, new product introduction and quality. Prior to joining Acacia, John served as the vice president, supply chain of JDS Uniphase. Prior to that, John held several roles, including vice president, general manager and vice president of supply chain, at Finisar. John holds a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Limerick in Ireland.

Robert is the Vice President of Quality, Chief Quality Officer of Acacia Communications. Robert brings to Acacia more than 30 years of experience in operations and quality control. Prior to joining Acacia, Robert was the vice president of global quality at ARRIS, Inc. where he was responsible for global quality and product reliability. He has held senior level quality control positions at Google Home Sector, Motorola, and Synchronous. Robert also sat on the Board of Directors for Telecommunications Standard of ISO9001(QuEST) from January 2016 to March 2018 and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) from September 2017 to March 2018. A retired U.S. Naval Officer, Robert holds a B.A. from California State University, Northbridge, and an M.B.A from California Lutheran University.

Renee is the Chief Human Resources Officer of Acacia Communications. Renee brings to Acacia over 15 years of human resource management expertise. Prior to joining Acacia, Renee served as a vice president, human resources for the global services division of EMC Corporation, where she also served in increasing senior roles in various parts of the business including an international assignment in Europe. Renee holds a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University.



In addition to serving on Acacia Communications' Board of Directors since 2013, Mr. Chung is a managing director and the chief executive officer of Summit Partners. Mr. Chung is currently a director of A10 Networks and MACOM Technology Solutions. Previously, Mr. Chung served as a director of various other entities, including Ubiquiti Networks. Mr. Chung holds an A.B. in economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

In addition to serving on Acacia Communications’ Board of Directors since 2019, Ms. Pang is the president, international and global accounts management of CenturyLink, Inc. Prior to that, Ms. Pang held executive level positions as the regional president, North America and Asia Pacific of Level 3 Communications, Inc. and as senior vice president, human resources of Global Crossing Limited prior to its acquisition by Level 3 Communications in 2011. Ms. Pang holds a B.A. in political science from Pennsylvania State University.

In addition to serving on Acacia Communications' Board of Directors since 2009, Mr. Reiss is a general partner of Matrix Partners. Prior to that, Mr. Reiss was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Reiss holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Cornell University, M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and operations research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

In addition to serving on Acacia Communications' Board of Directors since 2015, Mr. Ritchie is the senior vice president, chief financial officer and chief operating of Aerohive Networks. Prior to that, Mr. Ritchie held several executive positions, in each case most recently the position of chief financial officer, Telerik, Ubiquiti Networks, Electronics For Imaging and Splash Technology Holdings. Mr. Ritchie holds a B.S. in business administration from San Jose State University.

Prior to joining Acacia, Raj was the vice president of business development in the optical networking division of Alcatel-Lucent USA.
